Genre: Picture Book, Fiction
Subjects/Themes: Trucks, Construction
Plot: Learn about different types of trucks and the jobs they do. Find the little green turtle as he watches the different trucks build a bridge over his river.
Personal Thoughts: The exceptional 3-D pictures are full of texture and bright strong colors. While the trucks are the main characters in the story, the truck drivers come in a variety of skin colors, ages, and genders. Some simple counting and color names are included in the text. Halfway through the book, the truck drivers stop working when a little turtle crosses the street. In the last half of the book you can see the tiny turtle climbing on, over, and around the different trucks. The text is comprised of simple sentences to keep the story going. It’s the illustrations that will really keep the readers coming back.
